Dehydrated Banana Chips – Homemade

dehydrated banana chips

Dehydrated banana chips are a great quick and healthy snack for camping, hiking, RVing, biking, traveling or at home and making them yourself is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Slice, dehydrate and enjoy! There are really no fancy steps or anything special you need to do to the bananas. That’s all I really do, slice, dehydrate and enjoy. Some people that tell you to use some lemon juice or sugar sprinkled on them but I really don’t find it necessary at all. Here is a short video on how I do it. If you have a comment or question, please open the video in a separate browser viewing it directly in YouTube. There you can drop us a comment and we will answer it as soon as we can. If you don’t have a dehydrator, consider following this link, it will cost you nothing more but we get a small commission and it helps us keep this page running.

To make your dehydrated banana chips gather the following:
– A sharp knife
– A cutting board
– Bananas
– Your fancy new dehydrator you bought through our link…. 😉

How crunchy or chewy you like your banana chips is going to determine the amount of time they need to stay in the dehydrator. I leave ours in for about 12 hours and they are fairly crunchy. They will keep nicely in an old lunch meat plastic container. (We reuse the ones we get from the grocery store, they make wonderful storage bins for leftovers, banana chips, pens, pins, coins….. you get the idea.)
